Formerly titled "Catholic Leadership Today", this blog reflects on the meaning
of Catholic leadership, according to the teachings of the Vatican II Council. With
the blog's new title, the general direction of the reflections to be produced in
this blog, will focus on Christ as "Healer, Teacher, and Good Shepherd" - the
authentic model for Catholic leadership today.
This blog posts on inspiring and encouraging content. It is a new
blog, and its direction is to focus on the Holy Spirit as the Encourager, the
Comforter, and the Helper, for all present troubles, obstacles, and difficulties:
the small crosses encountered everyday in Christian living.
This blog offers an integration of internet language and technology to Catholics
who use the Web. It attempts to "inculturate" the language of the Web,
that the gospel can be part of the new digital continent. Some of the posts
in the blog include tips on technology, tools, and online third party applications
which can be used by Catholic bloggers.
This blog was originally conceived to reflect on the gospel, by using one's
poetic imagination. Its present direction is the posting of reflections on
poems written by saints and other religious poets. It will also feature
reflections on poems found in many classic spiritual works, especially
saints who wrote poems as part of their mystical writings.
Formerly titled "Platinum Martyrdom", this blog reflects on the great love that
breadwinners and workers have for God, Church and especially their families. It
presents stories of what great sacrifices they have undergone (in the
likeness of Christ's self-sacrificing love), so that they can earn a living
and support their family's basic needs: food, clothing, shelter, and education.
The title of this blog is just a title, and not a theological treatise.
It is a title to simply present a way of integrating Catholic virtues and
values in the operation of a small Catholic family business. One of the
features of this blog is a reflection on Frank Bettger's book, "How I
Multiplied My Income and Happiness in Selling". This blog views business
and the selling profession from a Catholic perspective of service and
availability.
This is a blog on saints and their spirituality. Featured among the saints in this
blog are: the thirty-three doctors of the Church; the Church Fathers of both the
East and the West; popular martyrs; and the founders of religious orders and
congregations. The blog also has twelve posts on the saints commemorated for
the twelve months of the year.
This blog speaks on meditation and contemplation. It cites several
books which specifically focuses on prayer at this level. One level of prayer
it reflects on is mysticism - a subject which will be presented and sourced from
the book, "The Essential Writings of Christian Mysticism".
This blog reflects on the theology taught by proponents of the Louvain school of theology
back in the early 1990s. It includes also posts on Church history, scripture, and
systematic theology in general. The general direction of this blog will have as its
main context the teachings of both John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI.
This blog reflects on prayer and discernment. The specific focus
of the topic on prayer will be Marian prayers and devotions according to the teaching
of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort. It will reflect also on the teachings of St. Ignatius of
Loyola on discernment. Aside from these two schools of spirituality, it will also seek
to learn Marian devotion and discernment from other Catholic traditions.
This blog presents the value of the sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist
as sources of great interior healing: the healing of memories, disordered emotions,
inordinate desires and a broken spirit. It seeks to understand how confession, and
the celebration of the Eucharist, can help Catholics grow spiritually until a level
of maturity in Christ is obtained.
This is a blog dedicated also to the person of the Holy Spirit. It includes 30
blog posts which is edited from the manuscript of Fr. Jose Dimaculangan's
"The Wellsprings of Love" - a 30-Day Focus on the Person of the Holy Spirit
in preparation for the Jubilee (year of the Holy Spirit, 1998). The general
direction of this blog is to present the rich tradition of Catholic spirituality,
as it is reflected in the many charisms of various founders of religious orders
and congregations.
This blog reflects on the gospel for every Sunday in the Church's liturgical
calendar. The general format for this blog post is: the presentation of the
references for the Sunday's liturgical readings; a paragraph briefly narrating
the gospel account; a paragraph reflecting on what our Church's tradition and
modern bible scholars say about the gospel passage; and a paragraph that helps
us reflect more deeply what the gospel means in our daily Christian living.
This is the pilot blog of all the abovementioned blogs. It began with nine blog posts
on the life of John Paul II. The general direction of this blog is to act as an
abstract and summary of all the blog posts in this fourteen Catholic blog network
and also all the recently published articles in this web site,
